I ordered a pair of Timberland boots. The site on the face of it looked like a UK business but when the parcel arrived it had taken several weeks and came from China. Instead of size 46 Timberlands I got size 40 "Gucci" strappy high heels!
I used the contact form on the website and got a response confirming that the warehouse had made an error but that the high heels were very popular and of better quality and higher price than the Timberlands: how about I keep them and they will give me a discount on my next order?! The email conversation continued a while with me asking for either the Timberlands or a full refund and suws suggesting I find someone to buy the "Guccis" from me. Ultimately they offered a 15% refund which I ignored.
I was very fortunate that Halifax the issuer of the Mastercard I had used agreed to take up the case and gave me a full refund.
