Someone called purporting to be my step grandson, saying he had been injured in a car crash and was in jail on a DUI charge. He begged us not to tell his mother.
Then a purported legal aid attorney called saying that we needed to post bond of $6000. We called the boy's mother only to find the young man was at home safe and sound. Fortunately no car crash, no injury, and no financial loss. But a nasty scare.
