I received to phone call from M&B Associates, a law firm I guess, stating that they are going to take me to civil court for an account that they paid off from a payday loan company called Twin Buff financial. They said that I took out a $500 online payday loan in Oct. 2012 to an account that has not been active in about 7 or 8 years. I did not take out this loan and confused on how any money can go into a close account. They had a lot of my personal information but it was all outdated. In seeing that a lot of other people are having this issue recently, I feel alarmed and now I question the legitimacy of the agency that contacted me on my "charges" they are pursuing. FYI for anyone that lives in the state of Pennsylvania, the statute of limitation is 4 years to file a civil suit. I find it interesting that any law firm would waste time in filing claims that can easily be dismissed. However, I believe the pursuing party is hoping no one responses to their petition, as that will render a default verdict to their favor. YOU MUST RESPOND to this allegation in order to claim someone defrauded you. Otherwise you will be held responsible for the money, even if you did not take the loan out or the 4 years are past.
