Basically I posted my first ad on craigslist and got an immediate response from someone with the email [email protected].
They went by the name Michelle Martinez.
Here is the email i received from her
"Thanks you for the quick response according to the description,am okay
with the price and the condition pasted on cl.I am ready to make
instant purchase and will be adding extra $50 to get it from you so i
will like you to delete the ads from the C.list.. But mode of payment
would be in Certified Check and concerning the pick up, i will
arrange for a local pick up as soon as you get the check clear in your
bank, because that is the only inconvenient means for me due to my
work frame and my Kids Am a Nurse Assistant with Two Kids so i don't
have time to check them up and pick it myself and the item will be
pick up from you after the check cleared cash and pick it up, but i
promise everything will go smoothly because this is my first time on
the Cl... If you are selling it to me, get back to me with your
contact details to mail out the check immediately.

As soon as i get the details, i will ask my husband to overnight the
check to you and then arrange for the pick up after the check clear in

Unfortunately I sent her the information she asked for.
after about 15-20 emails back and forth, she told me that she sent me a check. She told me that the check had money for my shoes that i sold her ($330) and money for a person from which she purchased items for her new apartment from another craigslist user. The check in total was written out for $1,830. Me being an 18 year old was pretty sketched out. She wanted me to cash the check, pocket the $330 for my shoes, and Western Union Transfer the remaining $1,500 to a female by the name Latoya Blackwell all the way in Georgia. This didn't make sense to me because I posted on Craigslist Detroit. I contacted my bank and was told to rip the check immediately, which I did.
Anyways, new craigslist users please beware of being contacted by the user with this email address.
