Chris Williams contacted me by phone offering to represent me in selling a domain name I no longer used. The agreement was that I was to pay their fee of $180 for handling the transaction, then be paid nearly $1500.00 for the sale. He "allowed" me to pay the $180 fee in two payments, suggesting the possibility of using my bank's QuickPay system of transferring funds to a business or person through my account to an account he would designate. I am 81, disabled and find it difficult to get out for even simple shopping, etc. so the idea sounded good and I fell for it. The problem with such a transaction is that the bank WILL NOT do anything towards helping with recovering the loss. Also they cannot divulge information re: the recipient due to privacy laws.
After a week or so when my check did not arrive as promised I called Chris - numerous times - but he always gave me some lame excuse and asked that I wait a few more days. It has been six weeks since I made the second payment of $90 without a word about when I would be paid. Now my phone calls and emails are ignored and he will not respond at all. This is 100% wrong and he should not be allowed to get away with it. May others be warned! I am sorry to say that you don't dare be a trusting person. Everyone is trying to rip you off. Chris had a friendly approach and the voice of a decent young man. His phone was listed under the name of Michael Warren, being used in NH, FL and AZ. According to a paid search for information, he now lives at 504 El Prado, Chandler AZ 85225.
