Warning mates, this is a bloody devious scam that is sooooo convincing even the daughter of a fraud inspector in York was recently scammed. It starts with an email or call from "the London Office" of a large well known HR company (Mercer, Hays, Hudson, etc.) or an ad spammed to your computer screen that asks if would like to work for a Fortune 500 company in China. Who the hell will say "No"? So they ten ask for you to email your resume and a day or two later you get a second call that says you "at least qualify for an interview, but don't get your hopes up, since 32 people are being considered for this job".

You get your interview and a few day's later you get the good news... You were "tentatively selected" for the position based on you doing a 90 day trial internship in China for evaluation purposes. Since you are being considered for a $60,000 job, they have to be sure you are competent and reliable. "Would you be willing to do a 90 day internship?" As soon as you say yes, they tell you to contact Getin2China or Gi2c (the same company) who supposedly handles all of their internship arrangements. Little do you know but you were talking with that company all along!

Now they ask you for a $300 processing fee and get you even more hyped up about living and working in China and their glamorous web site is just full of great testimonials and reviews (all favorable of course). Then the big surprise is dropped in your lap... you have to pay for the internship connections service and they want $1,000 to $5,000 from you! When you complain you are reminded that they are still cheaper than a head hunter and if you have a better offer somewhere else - go take it because there are 9 others on a waiting list hoping you don't follow through!

The below links tell the rest of the story. It is all a smoke and mirrors illusion and you have no legal remedy to get your money back from China. If you do go to China after paying the money, you will indeed get an internship, but not with any big international company. The way their contract is worded they are only obligated to get you an internship that you accept and nowhere in the contract does it mention the company by name! Your 90 day stay in China will end up costing you about $6,000 after you factor in your airplane tickets, housing, meals, etc. It ends up becoming a very expensive lesson in gullibility!
