I almost became a victim of Karhani and Vicky a financial advisory who worked for a broker company called Boutin inc. When I meet them I was told I could get a mortgage despite the fact that I knew I couldn’t qualify for the amount they wanted for the house. Despite this I was very interested in learning how.
The explanation I was provided by Vicky and Mr Karhani was that they would lower the price of the house so that I would qualify. After approval of the loan they would then invoice me the rest. It somewhat made some sort of sense.
When it was time to sign the contract Mr Karhani presented a contract from the APCHQ. Prior to signing the contract Vicky said I had to bring $10,000 in “good faith”. At the signing of the contract, Mr Karhani had already entered the date for the contract which was several month earlier. I questioned him on this and his explanation was that in order for my money to be insured I had to use this date. I didn’t consider this an actual explanation and refused to sign. He then explained that his coverage for the insurance was only valid between a specific time period and if I placed today's date and anything would happen to his company I would lose my money. I decided not to follow though with this.
A few days later , Vicky calls me and says I have to give the $10,000 as promised or they will sue me in court. I said I never signed the contract and it is basically canceled. She informed me that I did sign it and I better pay Mr Karhani soon. I asked for a copy of the contract. When I received the contract it was signed. The signature looked very much like mine. I thought I was going crazy my wife and I gave this a lot of thought and relived that we gave these people a copy of my Drivers license. When I compared the signature it looked like they copied it from there.
My response to them both was to take me to court for the $10,000 and we will see. I never heard from them again. I have passed by the Laval place and since almost 4 years the place looks like SHIT. I am so glad that split second choice I made 4 years ago saved my family a lot of stress and who knows what else.
