In December 2014 I telephone Currencies Direct (currenciesdirect.com) and asked to transfer a 6 figure sum of USD to GBP. We agreed a price for my USD IF the business deal I was doing to obtain the USD came in. The deal did not come in and so there was no need to transfer currencies.
When I told them my account was shut within the hour and a solicitors letter through my door asking for over £2k in lost profit! At no point did I agree or get told about any charges in the event the transaction was to be cancelled through no fault of my own. They are have now put in a claim via the small claims court! Beware of dealing with these sharks.
