I was talking with Verizon Tech Support regarding a problem with my Fios Email. When Verizon could not find a solution, my call was transferred to Gmiits Global (1-888-389-5646). I spoke first with a man named Jerry who got into my computer to take a look at my email set-up. Jerry told me that my computer had been hacked and I had no Firewall and my computer was loaded with viruses. This was probably why my email had never worked since the day Verizon Fios had been installed in September. Jerry showed me all of the countries that had hacked into my computer by scrolling through a long long list. It looked quite impressive. He told me that Gmiits could install a Firewall for $199 (the price for their 2 yr plan) and Gmiits could delete all of the viruses. I quite happily climb aboard the "stupid" train and purchased a $199 Firewall. I ignored the voice in my head that said this doesn't sound right. Jerry then handed me off to a Windows Tech named Nicholas who also had access to my computer and proceeded to "delete" the viruses and "install" my Firewall. I have no idea if they install a Firewall because under my Control Panel, I can't see that anything was downloaded on November 25. I was sent no receipt and the darn thing is after spending the money and several hours on the phone with Nicholas they couldn't get my email to work.

What I stupidly agreed too scares me. I have no idea what they did while having access to my computer. Obviously I will be contacting my credit card company and Verizon.
