I signed up for the Mobile Internet 4G National Elite Unlimited nationwide mobile data when the unit first became available. Now, I have been slapped with a ROAMING charge for 1 month's usage! They added a $331.80 charge for the month of October and I didn't use the device in October!
When I signed up- no one EVER said there were roaming charges! It was not mentioned by sales people, literature, or commercials. It is like they added this as an after-thought. At no time was I informed of roaming until after this outrageous charge! If I had known, I certainly would not have used the device, or signed up for the service. Afterall, isn't having a mobile device for the purpose of being mobile? My cell phone prompts me to inform me if I am going roaming, the computer device never alerted me.
I was in this same area in August and used the device, yet on that bill there were no roaming charges.
I called and tried to resolve the issue-was on the phone, transferred several times, for 2 solid hours. Finally was told a Manager would call me back. He never did. Now, TWC has turned this over to a collection agency and this is going to ruin my credit.
I will have to let this go to court because I cannot pay this bill. Fact is, too, I refuse to pay this bill! I intend to also file a complaint with the FCC.
I do not know if this was a "bait and switch" or out and out fraud. I am wondering how many others have been caught in this ruse. If I could find others, we could band together and file a Class Action suit against TWC. There is always more power in numbers.
This situation has made me, literally, ill. I have a medical condition that is exacerbated by stress. I live on a fixed income from Social Security Disability. How does one fight something like this?
TWC not only came after me, they went to my ex-husband's house and confiscated all their equipment and cut off the phone! Then, they still dared to charge for services the month after they had taken everything!
If there is anything you can do to help, it would be greatly appreciated.
