We received an invitation from the National American Miss Pageant for my granddaughter to be in the pageant, we went to the first meeting and we were told that it would only cost $480 for her to be in the pageant and all we had to do was raise that much money, then when she was accepted to be in the pageant we were told that it was extra for everything else like the talent part and the modeling part, etc. so we needed to raise even more money, then they sent us tickets for people to come to the pageant that they wanted us to pay for up front even though most of the people that were going to attend wouldn't be there until the pageant itself which was on June 30, 2014. Then they wanted to charge extra for flowers buttons and other miscellaneous things for this pageant. In all it cost us the initial $144 that we paid up front plus the gas to get to Columbia, plus two nights stay at a cheap hotel, plus food, and all other travel expenses, not to mention that I ended up getting sick because of all the stress of the situation that took place at the time of the check in and ended up in the emergency room in Columbia, then we had to make the trip back home. It was ridiculous. This thing is nothing but a scam and a rip off, they get these kids hopes up just to rip off their parents for money. My granddaughter mowed lawns held yard sales and bake sales and went door to door selling cup cakes to raise the money needed for this thing. So now I have to pay all the people back that donated money for this stupid thing. I've already talked to a lawyer and he thinks that we can have a class action lawsuit against them.
