I am Finnish, living in Helsinki Finland. I got a call from a woman from the company usagc.org. Her name was Jessica Wass. I don't know from which country the call came, because the number wasn't shown on the screeen. She was talking in American axcent. This was on the 1st of July 2014. I had the day before, 30th of june, filled my contact details in website usagc.org. The page did not have a "submit, save" button, so I thought my details never went further. I got a call from Jessica Wass the next day, 1st of July. She said that I was chosen to take part in USA green card lottery. Or so I undesrtood from her words. She spent about 30min asking about my life and why I'm interested of moving to USA. After our 30min chat, she asked for my VISA card details, so that she could add me to their program for helping people with the green card process. A 5 year program would have cost 783$ which is 598€. They were talking about euros. I refused to pay that amount, so they suggested me to join a 2 year program that costs 263$ which is 201€. I payed the lower amount 201€. After getting my credit card details and confirming the payment, they asked few questions about my age and birthdate and then they hang up. Immediately I realized someting was wrong, so I contacted the American Embassy in Helsinki Finland and they confirmed that I was hoaxed! The US States Department has nothing to do with the usagc.org company. I phoned my bank and they froze my credit card and it seems today 3rd of July 2014, the amount 201€ hasn't left to payments yet. I have been incontact with usagc.org with emails wanting an explanation and payment cansellation. I have all the emails in safe. I have also made an report to the Finnish consumer office, so that they will be aware and know of this company. I have also contacted the police Department In Texas via email and they adviced me to write my complaint to HPD’s Financial Crime Unit. as the usagc.org refers to Houston Texas.
