I was contacted by one of their representatives for a merchant cash advance. After sending in the paperwork, I didn't hear back from them for a few weeks. After setting up the new merchant account, they told me to make sure that the credit card processing worked. So i made a small purchase for $6 on my store's website.

After deciding to switch merchant companies to Chase because they are more reliable and right down the street from me, I received a phone call from Steve N from Powerhouse who was in charge of my account. It was the most unprofessional and sorry phone call I have ever heard. I was so embarrassed for him. He was complaining left and right about all the hard work he had done for me and refused to get off the phone with me until I gave him a valid reason for switching companies. I told him I just wanted to switch to Chase and he just wouldn't accept that. He was constantly yelling and cursing which just made me feel even more sorry for him and backed up my case for switching to Chase.

Now, after cancelling my account they are charging me a $250 closing fee because I had been processing credit cards. But the only card I ran was the $6 test I did to make sure the system worked, which is what they told me to do.

Anyway, do not do business with Powerhouse Payments. They never pick up the phones when you give them a call and are impossible to get a hold of. Not to mention their employees are the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. Now they are charging me for some bogus fees.
