The retailer (Here For A Day) offered a 30 Day Return Policy, in which they would take care of any issues, should there be an issue, as there wasn't then I would imagine that as the item was stated as having a "12 Month" Warranty (which only came in the form of the 2 Documents in which I provided along with the tablet), where there is no mention as to what restrictions there were, if a problem was to occur. There are quite a few unhappy customers who have had issues with various other models of tablets, where refurbished goods were (and still are) being sold for as much as £90, only to have later have manufacturer faults\flaws due to the materials used (IE having a plastic casing as thick as it is, can generate a lot of heat while charging a these devices up, and I am only assuming that my problem had came after I left the device to charge, little knowing that too much charge could of left the tablet over heating due to the lack of ventilation.
While I can appreciate that Arnova may have restrictions in place when it comes to the repair\replacement of certain goods, the problem is that even though there was no damage caused through misuse of the tablet (IE not being dropped or taking heavy blows to the display) there is no visible signs of damage in terms of cracks etc to actually take the word of outsourced repair staff who automatically void the 6 months out of the 12 Months "Manufacturer's Guarantee" as stated hereforaday's website (which I still have screenshots showing the original description).
The fact that Arnova required that in order to take their offer of a 25% Discount, I would have to surrender my faulty tablet to them as part ex!! - No doubt they will be using that to create another customer a refurbished tablet. Surely someone can be held responsible to the extent in which I receive either a replacement or the original price paid for it from hereforaday when it comes to Advertising Standards?
