I got a call from this company suggesting that I advertise on an appointment card they print for a local medical practitioner. I signed up & paid the money in 3 installments, ending July. I thought this was a good way to advertise my life coaching/EFT practice & did not think it was suspect because a local doctor was involved. I was promised 20,000 appointment cards over 2 years...good value for money. I am still waiting for the cards to be printed! Promises of publication are broken regularly, but the best is yet to come.
The doctor does not use appointment cards very often, if at all. His receptionist has a huge stock, but mine is not there. If it was no one would see it.
In the UK this type of scam is called 'support publishing' it's very common, & often involves small businesses like mine paying out for something that is never published.
Now hear this: I thought I might be able to get my money back if the doctor withdrew his agreement with this company. They have written me to say they are unwilling to do that & that they are happy to go on receiving the cards. Previous advertisers I have spoken to have had no business at all from their adverts, but the doctor is willing to continue aid & abet this fraudulent company.
I am filing this complaint so that you guys in the US know that you're not alone, not that that is any consolation for the $ you have lost, but perhaps it may help a little.
I plan to expose this company thro' the national press/TV & complain to the regional health board about the doctors intransigence.

  • Hi I have had the same experience with this company. I tried to contact MLP Media today (9/12/2011) to find out what has happened to the so called advertisement on a Dr's appointment card that I paid for back in June 2011 only to discover their phone has been disconnected. I have written to them demanding a refund but am holding out no hope whatsoever of that happening.
    How is your campaign going?

  • Hi Linda
Thanks for commenting on this scam. I did similar, sent a demanding email recently to the MD a guy named England, but so far no reply.
An awkward situation has developed, my wife is getting some treatment from the surgery my card should have gone to, so my campaign, which included press & NHS coverage has been put on hold, don't want to be struck off! I am however going to approach a legal firm to work on my behalf for a total fee of £100, plus any court fees.
I'll post again in due course.

  • Hi - I have also been ripped off by this company. The artwork they produced was so awful I had to do my own and send it to them as a pdf. I signed up on 5th Jan 2011 and the cards were not delivered until end of July - and ended up in boxes in back of doctors surgery along with a lot of other cards which no one ever sees. There's another website which has a lot of complaints against them - with the recommendation to contact trading standards - apparently they have a file on this company. I like the idea of suing them.
