We were approached on the street by a man with scratch vouchers who said that I had won a weeks holiday. To redeem my prize we had to go with him the following morning to an Absolute hotel. He picked us up from our hotel and we spent 5 hours (supposed to be only 90 mins) being bullied into buying a 'holiday package of a lifetime'. Thankfully we could only afford the deposit which was 1000 Euros or approx AUD$1500. Every salesman was a middle aged English man who were very convincing and pushy. We have a 7 day cooling off period, and I have emailed them saying that we wish to cancel our membership and am waiting for a reply. On return to Australia we logged into their website to find all the terms and conditions that they had told us were all lies. These included the fact that they told us that our family and friends could use our membership for up to 52 weeks/year. In fact, they can only use it for 4 weeks/year. Also, they told us that we would be able to use all of their affiliated resorts around the world, however, on the 35 month 'trial package' we are only allowed to use Absolute hotels. They blatantly lied to us for 5 hours. We feel like suckers but the whole experience was so well coordinated and appeared professional and we thought we were buying an amazing opportunity for ourselves and our family. DO NOT GET SUCKED IN. We would greatly appreciate some advice and help on how to recoup our money.
