Responded to a personal ad on craigslist.
The person who replied (Amy) wanted to meet, gave me a pic, then in third email wanted me to register for online identity verification
at this website, www.clean-clear-safe.com
The webpage itself is not an interactive form, just a vehicle to capture usernames, passwords, and email addresses. After 15 tries, none of my usernames were accepted, but each attempt transmitted all three fields back to its home server.
The last time I got into a situation like this, I wound up getting billed over $145, despite the claim that there is only a $1 lifetime fee.
this is the same outfit, just operating under a different website. They use Epoch as their billing agent.
