I had just lost my job and so I went on craigslist and saw this post for car advertisement. I thought, hey, easy money.. get paid to drive my car around.. but things didnt work out as planned. I recieved an email (below) and I replied with my information. I had recieved phone calls from different numbers of someone claiming to be David but every time I tried to call the number back it was busy .. which should have been my first red flag. Then I recieved an email with directions on how to cash the check. I was told to deposit the money in my account, keep 500 for myself, and send the rest through a western union and it was to go to the people who would come wrap my car. Well, that never happened.. I followed the instructions and the check cleared in my account so I thought nothing of it, but then I recieved another one .. which should have been another red flag.. and I was instructed to do the same thing. When I went to the bank, I had a negative balance of the amount of the check, I tried calling and emailing and then I finally got a response that he would issue another check. I also asked when I would be getting my car wrapped and he told me I had to send one more payment only this time when he sent the check, I waited a few days after I deposited the check to pull any money and it turned out that the checks were not real. They looked real, felt real, but they weren't real. So now, my account is closed.. my credit is f***.. and I have been recieving letters since then saying I owe the bank 1,500 dollars
