I received an "offer" under the guise of Netflix (a reputable company) for a free camera with a shipping charge of $3.00. I completed the survey, gave my credit card # for the shipping charge and waited for my camera to arrive. On checking my statement, I was also charged a "monthly fee", which I did not authorize. What Bidoubids failed to mention is that, on accepting the offer, you are also agreeing to a daily bid agent making bids on your behalf. On contacting the company, I was advised that 4 bids had been made on my behalf. I asked for details of the bids and was denied the information. I asked when my camera would be shipped (already paid the shipping); the response was that the purchasing dept was waiting for a copy of my drivers license or passport, plus a validated credit card authorization from. This appears to be a very lucrative scam! Please warn anyone you know not to be taken in by this.
