My Macbook had abundant popups, pictures of suggestive video games with almost naked women, connection sights popping up to "Hi, I' Cindy, etc…". My machine was bogged down. I ran a MacKeeper check up. It claimed I had 1606 SEVERE areas of concern and I could download $89.00 software to clear the virus up. I looked up Mac reliability and altho moderately true, the claim is they seldom get viruses that it is primarily a Window products. My thot was to call Apple assistance online. So, arrived logmein123.com. Bottom line, after 20 minutes, I was told by a dialectic voice from India that I had breaches in my machine right at that time! That all my personal information was compromised. FOR $500 THEY COULD FIX MY COMPUTER if I left it offline for 3 hours OR that I needed to find a Level 4 Cisco Hacker Tech clear the problem up, in my area. At that time my machine would be gone for one week. Cisco does not even interface with Apple Products! At that time I said I would hold and rethink my repair approach. The respondent then said, "Are there money things"? I translated that to mean, 'did I have money problems'. I responded we all do and thanked him. He THEN offered to fix it for ONLY $250!! if I would do it right then. I offered my thanks again at which time I was unable to log off and he was controlling my cursor to keep me on line. This IS DEFINITELY NOT A LEGIT COMPANY. PLEASE, post this concern ASAP so no one's wallet is sucked dry. I connected with a Mac specialist who corrected the event in half an hour at a $20/hr. rate.
