Thank You, for the opportunity to post,
We were all set to attend a "Grand Travel Worldwide" presentation tomorrow in Marina, CA. As sometime happens, we needed to try to change the 10:00 a.m. appointment to one at 12:00 or 4:00. The only number I had did not work so I went on-line. In my research I found three sites with numerous posts relating to scams, fraud, bait and switch, rip-offs, BBB warnings, etc. for Grand Travel Worldwide, Voyager Vacation Club, Island Trader Vacations, Travel Services Inc., Payless Vacations and others. Grand Travel Worldwide was specifically named in many of the reviews.
In this presentation they are offering three prizes: a new 2014 Ford Explorer or $25,000 cash, R/T air travel anywhere in the U.S. and two nights stay with Marriott or a 27" flat screen TV. This is different than anything I've seen offered in the other complaints I reviewed.
I also noted that they have several sites up on avoiding destination related scams for travelers and another from a PR firm explaining that online negative reviews are related to the folks looking for reviews on "Grand Travel Worldwide" who are actually looking at reviews of other travel companies. I am commenting on Grand Travel Worldwide specifically.
I'm posting here to repeat that the old adage: "If it seems to good to be true, it probably is." We won't be going tomorrow and I want to say that you should be very careful too when these offers come along.
Regards, and heads up.
