Nancy Harris at Accent Properties is a dishonest real estate agent who lied to induce an unsuspecting organization into a lease at her property at 2045 Floral Drive. She failed to respond appropriately to tenant complaints of Rodent Infestations, inadequate heating due to dilapidated heating ducts, and a leaking gas furnace heat exchanger that upon inspection was badly rusted.

Nancy Harris, instead of remedying the issues, ignored them and attempted to shift responsibility to the tenant who had clearly inherited them. Harris went so far as to deny the existence of emails of official notice that were sent to her office by the tenant. Nancy Harris boldly lied to the Boulder office of health and human services about pertinent facts. Harris also purjured herself before Judge Archuleta who presided over the legal action filed against Harris and Accent Properties alleging, inter alia, retaliation against the tenant for having brought the unhealthy conditions to her attention in the first place.

Harris, wanting to avoid the expenses of remedying the dangers and health hazards brought to her attention, sought to have the tenant evicted by making unreasonable demands and purposefully disrupting his peaceful enjoyment of the property. Harris purposefully interfered with the tenants efforts to secure co-tenants to help pay the rent at the property, by refusing the principal tenants reasonable requests to have 2 other tenants at the 3 bedroom home, telling the prospective co-tenants that they were not allowed to occupy the premises. Harris did this in order to financially pressure the tenant to vacate. She cost the tenant several thousand dollars in prospective co-tenant rent and created undue burden of advertising and showing expenses and time. Harris cost the tenant thousands in investigations, court filings and legal fees to bring various actions before the Boulder County Court and Health and Human Services board. Harris failed to return the tenants' security deposit, nor did she provide the tenant with a proper accounting as required by law. In addition, Harris blamed tenant for unfounded damages at the property and with the help of Rob Beardsley and Dodo Beardsley, the property owners of 2045 Floral Drive, committed insurance fraud for claiming over $5,000 in fictitious and fabricated damages. The tenant eventually reached his threshold of nuisances and financial loss, and under duress, reluctantly vacated.

Worth noting is that Harris immediately increased the rent at the property by a significant amount (>15%) to the new tenants, bringing to light the possible motive for a profit-driven eviction. Gary Calderon of Boulder CO is the owner of Accent Properties and as Harris' principal was fully aware of the situation and condoned and supported Harris' misconduct. They wantonly endangered the health and safety of their tenant at 2045 Floral Drive. In all the amount of monetary losses suffered by the tenant amounted to $33,000.

Nancy Harris and Accent Properties are guilty of a number of civil violations and felonies including perjury before government bodies, insurance fraud, tenant retaliation, negligence, misrepresentation, private nuisance/harassment and slander. They are not acting alone and due to Calderon's establishment in the community have support inside Boulders government offices and district attorneys offices. There is no other way that a company such as Accent Properties could have pulled off such a blatant scam and abuse of their licensed real estate privileges without due recourse. The Boulder DA was backing them the entire time. Nancy Harris, Rob Beardsley, Dodo Beardsley and Gary Calderon believe they are above the law and can leverage the Boulder Justice and HHS Departments to abuse the tenant community in Boulder CO, and will do whatever is necessary to serve their bottom line. They should be avoided at all costs and let the market be the true trier of fact in our honest and civic minded Boulder community.
