Brandon Martin (818-570-5222)claiming to be with 247 support experts called me stating the following:
I had been scammed and someone had taken over my IP address.
This person was sending out emails using my email address asking for money and threatening those the emails were being sent to if money was not sent immediately.
That this needed to taken care of ASAP to keep all the information on my computer from being stolen. He had my personnel information and showed all the errors on the computer which turned out to be false. He put what looked like mistakes on my computer. His first call was at 12:09pm to my home phone and the last at about 3:30pm to my cell phone since I was volunteering for the Red Cross.
He insisted that I should get a "greendot moneypak scratchable voucher with 14 digits on the back for $500. and call him back when I had gotten the card.
Knowing better I did this only because of emails being sent out in my name and the chance of my credit card information being stolen.
He called back later saying he had been talking to Microsoft and my computer could not be fixed and he needed $1200. I refused and he hung.
When I got home, I called 247 experts and was told by another rep. there was nothing wrong with my computer and that Brandon Martin was with 247 and had removed what he had showed me was wrong with my computer. This rep. said he was in Boston, Mass. and took a report and gave me a case #.
Feb. 25, 2014 I called 247 to check on the case # and was told by rep. it did not come from her area.
Was told Brandon Martin did not work for 247 but I called him @818 570 5222 at 6:31 pm EST and he answered "247 Support Experts". He ask me to call back in 5 minutes and the message was that the phone had been disconnected. Before calling Brandon Martin, I called the 247 support #800 676 8695 and waited almost 3 hours to be called back by Jim who was supposed to be the customer service manager. I had to make 2 calls before he finally called me. Jim kept telling that the call was being recorded which was fine with me. I just wanted to know the status of the case and my $500. back. He told me how big a company 247 was and it had no way to get my $500. back to me. Sounds strange since Brandon is an employee. After asking Jim a number of questions (at times he got very loud and I ask him to quit yelling at me), he said 247 had known about Brandon Martin scamming people for a month and had complaints with law enforcement out on Brandon in different places. Jim was hard to understand at times because of a heavy accent and would try to talk over me and not let me explain what had happened at first. He did finally listen to my explanation. Then he said he was going to close out my account and wanted me to set up a paypal account to refund $399. that I charged to my credit card on Jan. 12, 2014. or find family or friends who had a paypal account where he could put the money. I refused. Then he wanted me to call my credit card company to see it the $399. could be transferred back to the cancelled and be credit to the new card if he talked to the credit card company. Per my credit company they would not call him but would give me a temporary $399. credit while the amount was being disputed. Jim kept mentioning the number of times I had called (4) 247 for help with since Jan. 13, 2014. I told him I thought that was the job of 247. I think he wanted to get rid of me because I'm going to report 247 to my state's attorney general's office which was probably too much information to share with him. I have had nothing but trouble with 247 since I had the account was set up. One rep. would fix one thing but cause another problem at the same time. Based on my experience I would not recommend 247 to anyone else. I don't remember how I connected with 247 but the person was very pushy, did a hard sell job and told me that I only had 2 options: to let him fix my computer right then for $199. which was a one time fix or $399. for a 3 year contract with Norton or my computer would really be messed up.

  • Take heart Anon, they clipped me for $2400 before I woke up. As of 5/16 they were still executing this scam. I filed a report with IC3. Hope they get these bastards.
