I am srivamsi from Bangalore, India

This complaint is against Airtel telephone and Broadband in India (Bangalore circle)

- My Airtel telephone number is 08041698183 Account number is 7005752475.
- My lose is Rs 13,551 (225$).
- Name of the account is Sri Vamsi Krishna Reddy

This broadband connection has being asked to disconnect in September 2012 since I am moving out to different place. The Airtel rep told me that in order to disconnect the connection I need to pay the outstanding balance, so in first week of October I have paid Rs 5000/-. This amount was collected by some field collections guy from Airtel (his name is Abishek and I have paid 5000 rupees infront of Airtel office, Bannergatta Road).

I repeatedly to that guy to disconnect the connection and he also assured me that the connection will be disconnected as soon as this payment was done. Later I got bill for November and December for which I did not even use the connection. Spoke to representative from airtel to stop sending me the bills for the connection which I am no longer using and I have been relocated from that address but no use, the bills never stopped. Spoke to Airtel rep several times but no use.

Later on 29th August 2013, Airtel guys played a prank on me saying that "we are calling from Delhi Sessions court (his name is Baljeeth Singh, Number is +91-9213290992). He gave a case number (DC 12112 Public 2013) and asked me to contact advocate Radhika (her contact number is +91-9873892427). I called her, she told that today is the day of hearing from the Delhi court and I should attend the hearing, else I would be fined with an amount of Rs 52,000".

She gave me an option to pay the bill on the same day (29th August 2013) before 3:00 PM so that the case will be nullified, else they will be proceeding with the case (She spoke to me in a threatening way). So I made the payment before 3PM. Now I came to know that, this is their illegal practice to get the money by threatening people and giving unbelievable deadlines.

How can a company like Airtel do like this to their customers, they thought they are ruling India I wanted you to take a strict action against Airtel for threatening me in an illegal way and discomforting me in such a way that I cancelled all my appointments and ran after airtel guys. Totally I was incurred with a lose of Rs 13551/- which is quite big amount for a guy like me. I don't want this to happen to any other Indian, I will also be promoting this complaint through social media.
