Lloyd Ward & Associates promised my credit card debit would be decreased and a payment plan would be set up within a few days.
I was set up with a payment plan with NoteWorld. The payment was supposed to be a higher amount because Lloyd Ward was being paid the balance of their fee from it until the following JUNE, then drop down to ~160 or something. Instead,in April 26, 2013 the amount went up to ~300+.
Then I got switched to another collections firm and had to go to court for that because I missed a couple payments because it was on autopay and I was not aware of the change. At this time the credit card company claimed I had paid nothing to them and wanted the full amount with penalties and other fees.
Anyway, the amount I ended up owing in 2013 was MORE than I owed in 2011 and I had Mercord as my collector. They recently sent me a letter saying they were no longer representing me.
On top of that Lloyd Ward & Associates says my case is closed so no one will talk to me!!
after a week of calling everyone I could think of and all the numbers they gave me, I called the credit card company. Some of the payment may or may not have gotten to them.
Regardless, I will be paid off within 8 mos.

I suggest people go straight to their credit card company when they need to get out of their 'hole' don't pay thousands to faceless people all over the country!
