On several occasions over the last two weeks I have been receiving calls from a James Ross 904-435-5098, with a very thick accent, stating he is calling from GE Capital to speak about a loan I have inquired about. I have not inquired about a loan from GE Capital. In one day he called me 7 times within a 30 minute window. I googled the number and found this is a personal cell phone number and the answering machine only states his name. This guy is a complete scam. When he called me for a seventh time this morning and even though I was at work, I stepped away from my desk, I took the call. I told him what I had found and that he was scamming. He denied it of course. I then began to threaten him and telling him not to call me again. He continued to talk and state he wasn’t scamming. Never once saying anything professional or asking nicely for me to contact a main number and then asked to be transferred to him to ease my mind. He just continued to ramble. Think about it, if someone is working for a company and the person is 1.) calling 7 times within 30 mins (they wouldn’t , it’s illegal) 2.) not supply a direct number to GE Capital to put the customers mind at ease, then they are a scammer. Not one corporate employee would put up with how I was speaking to him, which I did on purpose because I knew he just wanted to scam me for my information so he could rip me off. Beware of any calls from this number. I’m calling GE Capital’s main office next and right now I’m filing a report with the FCC online.
