PIMA Medical Institute - Houston and Las Vegas

I went to PIMA Medical Institute in Las Vegas in Jan. 2010 and in Houston Aug. 2013. In both cases, extern was handled unprofessionally and I have NEVER been able to find a job in either case.

I went to PIMA based on the advice of my mother-in-law. She sold me on it and I really love the medical field so I decided to go there instead of a college. That was the first mistake.

The teachers were good in Vegas, not so much in Houston. I passed all my classes, received Director's Honor Roll 3 times, had perfect attendance, the whole 9 yards. When it came time to go to extern, I watched the extern lady BEG the place for 45 minutes to take me. They had NO INTEREST in another extern, they already had 3. I did my extern, got good remarks from them and graduated with high honors. NOBODY would hire me because of there being more people than jobs in the western side of the US.

Fast forward to 2013 and I decide, after YEARS of trying to get a job as an MA to go back for the free refresher course offered at PIMA. I decided, while talking with them, that I would enroll in the Phlebotomy program since I love that more. The teacher was a "doctor", or so he said. His general attitude towards people is anything but nice. He is very cynical and doesn't seem to like anyone. I finished that program to be sent to an MA extern site. When I have talked to them about that, I was told that externs in Phlebotomy didn't go to phlebotomy extern sites because they don't have enough for the students. How is that supposed to help me? The site is also having people do things that are ILLEGAL...falsifying records, using white out of medical records, marking drug screen results BEFORE the drug test is even taken.

Now that I am done and trying to work in the field, NOBODY will hire me again based on my experience. I don't have any past the classroom. I have tried to get help from PIMA and NOTHING is being done. They are going as far as telling me that it's my fault or something on my resume isn't right and that's why I can't find a job.

I am currently seeking to sue them and I am reporting them to FOX26 news in Houston.

If you are thinking of going the quicker route...DON'T DO IT! ESPECIALLY if it's this school. It will not work in your favor.
