I received a letter back in December from the stated company that states that I need to register my company. It looks like a government body with the Lion crest as its logo. Thinking that it is a legal compliance, I registered my company in it.
It came as a surprise when I received an email from them stating a subscription amount of SGD490.00 is due. I was shocked as it was never stated in the letter nor was it clearly stated on the site itself.
Only then, I realised that they stated these 'charges' under their FAQ and terms of use. It was never stated upon registration that there will be a subscription fee.
I called the contact person reflected in the Invoice and he said that I should email them and they will reply accordingly. Their response has not been helpful and I was advised by CAD to lodge a police report. I hope someone puts a stop to such scheming tactics in deceiving companies into believing that this is a Government body.
Update: 01/23/2014
Today, they replied to me the same thing they did on Sunday stating that it is in the T&C and that I can unsubscribe for the following year. This is utter nonsense and I refuse to make any payment and will not correspond with them
