I was led to a fake Mcafee Security site after a fake problem message on my computer. I called the phone number, which I have now learned is not a Mcafee support number. I was shown that I had a computer virus and they said they could get rid of it for me. They said they had to get some information before continuing (phasing). They then quoted me $299 for the service. They then wanted my email username and password. I then hung up.
I subsequently checked my computer myself by a number of means in addition to working with the REAL Mcafee, and found no viruses.
