We purchased a home owners insurance policy that covers many things including all of our appliances, We filed a claim to replace a dishwasher that broke down,turns out that it cost more to repair the unit than to replace it. so I called and spoke to Rich (claims adjuster) at Globe Home,he requested some documents which I sent to him and the Technicians report saying that it cost almost 400.00 dollars to repair,Rich suggested that I just purchase a new dishwasher because this would be cheaper than repairing the old unit,he even suggested Loews,Sears or Home depot, .Rich authorized and approved the claim for a replacement: claim # 200138214-2 including the installation charge.He told me to pay for it out of my pocket and that they would reimburse me minus the 75.00 dollar deductible,I spoke to Rich and Kay several times since then,Rich told me everything was taken care of and that I would get a check soon,weeks passed and still no check.I called again and again almost everyday finally I was told by Rich to speak to KAY, (Kay is extremely rude and nasty) She is in the underwritting dept and although Rich approved the claim Kay I guess has the final say-,I told her that ive been trying to get a status on my claim and was told by Rich the claims adjuster that a check would be issued for 311.00,Kay proceeded to rudely ask me if I had read THE FINE PRINT on my policy,she also told me that they would only reimburse me 200.00 because this figure represents an industry standard price for a dishwasher,when I asked her what that meant she told me that 200.00 is what builders pay for a dishwasher,and they probably do because they buy many dishwashers at a time and thus get a discount,she also told me that they will not pay for the 129.00 dollar installation charge because i should have installed it myself,I told her that this was unacceptable and I told her I am not a plumber,I also told her that I was not a builder,she responded by saying to me "Well if you do not understand what I am telling you than I will just hangup on you"(how unprofessional),I saved her the trouble and hung up on her- this was over 2 months ago and still no check has been issued. I did some research online,(GOOGLE,etc) and I found that they have many,many similar complaints posted by other consumers as well as complaints by contractors that GlobeWarranty hires and does not pay them for their services,This company is a SCAM - DO NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY,I have filed complaints with the BBB,Consumer affairs,the Florida Attorney general,Florida state of licensing and the Florida Consumer Fraud division.
