I did an online search to find out how to apply for low income housing in my city. Typing "Section 8 housing" followed by my city and state brought up www.section8programs, with the title "Section 8 Application". I completed the application and sent it along with the requested $14 fee. I found out later there is NO fee to apply for low income housing. I also found out the site I needed was hud.gov.
I tried to contact the company to let them know their adverstising is deceitful. Worse than that, it preys on the people who can least afford it. $14 may not sound like a lot of money, but it is half of my weekly grocery money. My email was returned.
