My coworker received a phone call this morning from Mandatory Arbitration Services LLC saying that she owed over $800 for a (false) payday advance loan taken out a few years ago. They said that she had to pay $100 today and a payment plan after that, or get served and taken to court. They gave her a case number, previous addresses, last four of her social and contact information for friends as "references." However, they were unable to provide her with the account number that the payday advance was supposedly deposited into. Nor did they give any written documentation. The person who called said they were calling from the east coast, then when asked where their office was my coworker was told they were calling from Seattle. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE. They are a complete scam. A payday loan was never taken out, no written evidence was ever provided. They scare people with threats of legal action but will "settle" with immediate, over the phone payment.
