I unfortunately was the victim of a scam yesterday and I am trying to find someway to get my money back. I dont really care about anything else except getting my $439 back. Anyway, I received an email from this company with a document attached stating that I was approved for a loan for $3,500 with payments of 250 over an 18 month period. I have bad credit due to an unfortunate bankruptcy due to unemployment, so I can not get a normal personal loan. I just wanted a little extra money to pay some medical bills that have accumulated over the time that I was unemployed. Anyway, So I thought ok I'm approved and I called. They told me all I had to do was go get $250 in cash and put it on a vanilla reload card and to call them after I have done it. They guy, named Danny, assured me that I would get the $250 back when they deposited the money into my bank account. I asked why they needed this, he said it was the lenders way of assuring that I have the money available to make the first monthly payment of $250. So I did it. I called him back with and STUPID me, I gave him the pin number on the back. He told me to hang on the phone and he would be right back. About 20 minutes later, he came back on the phone and said he was unable to transfer the money via ach and that I had to call my bank and get the wire transfer number. So I did, got that number and then called him back and gave it to him and then he told me to hold on. Then he came back and said that there is a wire transfer fee and that my bank account had a negative balance and was too new of an account and because of all this I had to pay another $189 in order to get that fee lifted, but that I would et it back within 2 days. He said it would be direct deposited into my account. I said ok, so I will give you a credit card to put the $189 on. He said it had to be one of these stupid vanilla reload cards again. So REALLY STUPID me did it again. Called with the pin number again, ugh! He said the money should be in my bank account within 15 minutes. So I went online to my bank account and looked and looked and looked again. Of Course, no money! So I called back and told Danny enough was enough and that I wanted to speak to a manager. After I gave Manager Nathan an ear full, he told me to calm down and let him look into this. So then he came back and said that the money was not able to be transferred because the IRS had a hold on it because of bad credit or something freaking stupid like that and of course that could be lifted with another $150 vanilla reload card fee. I said are you freaking kidding me! This is bull (and not that nice I assure you) and that I wanted my $439 back now and that I wanted to cancel the loan. He got belligerant with me and said that it wasnt his fault that I had bad credit. Are you serious! Anyway, after a few choice words, he told me I would get my money back but first I would have to pay a $90 cancellation fee and that it had to be paid on this freaking vanilla reload card again. I said why cant you just deduct the $90 from the $439 and give me back $349. Of course not, he said I had to pay the fee before he would give me my money back. I continued with give me my money back first and then I will gladly go get another card for you in the amount of $90 and you can have it. He was rude, nasty, and I just couldnt take it anymore, so I hjung up and prayed to God that he will end up in Hell someday. Then I got to thinking they said the money was on hold with the IRS and they never actually cancelled the loan. So I called back one more time, why I dont dont. But I talked to Nathan again, and said I want to make sure that the loan is cancelled so you dont come back at me someday saying I owe you $3500 or something crazy like that. He said he would not cancel the loan until I paid the $90. I said so this money is just going to sit out there in lala land forever. Obviously there is no money and never was. I just gave up, hung up and cried! Today I called the vanilla reload company and talked to a very nice lady there and asked her if there was anything she could do to help me recover this money. She took my pin numbers and told me yep you were definitely scammed, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do to help and that I needed to report it to my local police department. I have left a message for my local police department and am waiting for them to get back to me. So here I am wondering if there is anything that this website can do to help me or anything that anyone else out there has done to successfully recover their money. That is all I want is my money back!
