I live on the Gold Coast, Australia. I received a call, this date, from 'Omni Florida Holidays in the USA. They stated I had sent them my personal details and I was in 10% group & had been selected for a heavily discounted holiday.
(i) I had not sent my details to Omni (ii) it was a high pressure call (iii) they wanted the money up front - nil / none time to decide. (iii) when I requested time to explore the offer - the package / offer was immediately withdrawn and 'end' of phone call.
I can't believe companies or who ever are still marketing like this.
