I received a phone call from a process server name Scott King. He said that I ended to contact the business who had notified hi to contact me. He left me a phone number and case number. He said that If I did not follow through that he would serve me at my place of employment or at work. He ended the call saying the I have officially been notified.

I finally called the number after recving another phone call from this Scott and spoke to someone at RTH GROUP. I was informed that that I had borrowed money from a company with the intent to commit fraud. He asked me if that was my intent and I told him no. He went on to tell me that if I did not pay what I owed that I would be taken to court and would end up paying the court costs, their fees, attorney fees and what I owe or I could pay them now to settle out of court. Of course I took the 2nd option. This person knew my SSN number.

I need to know if this is legal and if not what can be done about it.
