Recieved a missed call from phone number (201)539-2405. When I returned the call,(first 2 times it was busy) I was prompted to press 1 to accept my prize or 2 to be added to do not call list. I pressed nothing, but was directed to an operator who wanted my full name, address and phone number to collect a prize of gift cards for being a valued customer at one of any number of businesses. (He listed wal-mart, CVS, etc. all of which are places I don't shop.) When I didn't want to give him any of that information but wished instead to be told how they got my phone number, he tried to explain that he didn't have that information because I was calling a number that had been disconnected and was therefore rerouted to him. I explained that no, that number called ME not but 20 minutes prior. We went around in circles with him assuring me that someone had my number because I was a valued customer with gifts to claim, but he didn't have any info on what company, how they got my info, etc. He wanted my credit/debit card number "for a 1-time shipping fee of $9.95" to send me my free rewards cards, and would later get that shipping fee rebated. I explained I would not be giving him any information unless he could give me some in return. He directed me to their website where I could enter in my email as a username and my zip code as password. I asked how they would have that information? He could not answer. Eventually when it became more than abundantly clear that this was a scam, I ended the call and looked up the webpage details, and found the scam log associated with it.
