I was searching for homes to rent in my area and came across a nice townhouse that I inquired more about. The person, 'Helen leffler', contacted me through email with the exact email I'm sure alot of people have seen. Saying they moved to Rochester MA, want to rent the house and not sell it, all that mumbo jumbo. So after staying in contact with this person for several days, I had sent them a $200 security deposit, and they said I would get the realtor lock code after I sent them that amount, but then they said I had to sent $200 more before I could receive the keys and/or documents. After that final amount was sent, I hadn't heard from them all morning, and I finally did what I should have done in the first place, which is research the 'organization' they claim to be a part of. And who would have thought, I was scammed! Found the house on a different website and found a realtor on the page and when I talked to him he told me the house isn't even ready to be rented, it's missing copper pipes and there's alot of work to be done. And the person I spoke to on the phone told me that it was move in ready. Can't believe I fell for it, people are horrible!
