I received a phone call on my cellphone from some lady with an Indian accent telling me to contact Ruffel Reid from the Department of Legal Affairs regarding legal action being taken against my name. I was told to contact phone number347-926-7028. I called the number using another phone and they hesitated to answer any questions unless I give them the number associated with their phone call, but I declined to give them the number. After I continued to inquire about the nature of the call, they said legal action was being taken against me for taxes relating to tax years 2009, 2010, and 2012. I told them I would call IRS to inquire and they told me not to do that because I need to have my attorney contact them. I made contact with both the IRS and Dept. of Legal Affairs and there's nothing pending against my name. I then called these people back using a different phone again, and they refused to talk to me unless I gave them my personal cell phone number. I called them again and asked for Dept. of Legal Affairs and the phone line became quiet everytime I asked that question. I called againt this time asking for Ruffel Reid and they said nobody works here by that name. I called on 11/27/13 and asked for Ruffel Reid and he said I'm speaking and I questioned about the call I received, and again he denied speaking with me unless I gave him my number, but I refused and I told him to tell me why I'm having legal action against my name and he said it was for not reporting taxes for 2009, 2010, and 2012. I told him I contacted the Dept. of Legal Affairs and nobody never heard of your name and he hung up the phone. I initially received this type of call on Columbus Day 10/14/13 during the Gov't Shutdown and the person told me they were calling from the IRS because I had not reported all of my taxes from 2009 and legal action would be taken if I don't call. Ironically I recently submitted a payment to the IRS for a mistake on my taxes by my tax company. I tried calling the IRS just to make sure there was nothing else pending against me but my call was unsucccessful due to the shutdown. I thought about it and I said to myself normally an IRS agent will give you their I.D. Number and tell you their calling from the IRS or they will simply mail the information iforming you of any action against you if you owe any money. I filed a police report and contacted the Federal Trade Commission to place an alert on my credit and to send a report to all my creditors. With all of this I never received any monetary amount that I owed.
