this started through match.com. Met someone on line who appeared normal, great, etc. Was told that he was heading to Spain for work. We spoke at great length through Yahoo Instant Messaging. As the week progressed...gee, didn't he have problems with his credit card. Said his credit card company locked his card because he did not tell them he was travelling abroad. Claimed his bank - Chase - doesn't wire money over seas. Could he please wire me $5,000 of his money to me from his bank to western union. Then I could then wire it to him via western union to Spain. I spoke with the bank and also with Western Union - they said this is most definitely a scam. I don't know this person - never met him in person. For all I know that $5K could be coming out of a stolen account and then I'm receiving it and sending it to Spain. I told him no way.
