A notice about Discovery magazine renewal. I paid $35 for three-year renewal. Two weeks later I received another notice for the discovery magazine. After some research I found that the Discover magazine has no association with US Periodicals.

  • I received the same "Renewal Statement" but the 3-year renewal price for Discover Magazine is now $40.00 (checks payable to USP). The USP statement includes an "Account Summary"; but the summary tells me nothing whatsoever about my Discover Magazine account. The USP subscription renewal offer is an obvious hustle if not an outright scam. The question is, to what extent (if any) is USP affiliated with Discover Magazine? Flimflam hucksters may be free to operate in Arizona but use of the USPS for deceit and deception is subject to question. Personal information such as name, address and magazine subscriptions should be protected by law. The U.S. Constitution provides for a postal service; but there's no reason to believe the founding fathers intended to encourage or support hustlers and scam artists.
