Today I was contacted by John Pioneer representing Megamillion Consumer sweepstakes out of Jamaica NY, phone no. 1-518-872-3905, informing me I had won $3.4.million dollars because my name had been drawn from a list credit card customers from a group of participating retailers. He stated this program was known to the corporate offices of CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, etc.

After telling me I would be responsible for 25% Federal taxes he informed me a certified check would be delivered by UPS after I paid a 1% Administrative fee with a green dot money pak. While on the phone with him, I looked online and found this phone number is associated with a scam. I even told him so but he was persistent and insisted I wrong. He even told me it was obvious I wanted my check because I had not hung up. At which point, I did.

This call had many every mark of being a scam.

- The caller ID showed a private number

- The the person on the phone was claiming to be from Florida and having grown up in New Jersey (although he could barely speak English).

- The call back number was not a Toll Free number which almost every company has.

- He wanted me to pay a "small" fee to process a Win of 3.4 Million dollars.

Fortunately, I am highly suspicious of any call from any company. Don't be taken in by these scammers. They are heartless thieves who deserve a public flogging from preying on others.

  • I just received a call from what seems to be same. They also affiliated with walmart...cvs...a list of stores with green dot. They said I won 3.9 Million dollars tax free. I all had to do was purchased a $500.00 Green Dot card and call them back immediately for a fast delivery of the check I won
