I went online to order tickets at the Benedum Center for a musical in PGH, Pa at which time I was re-routed to this website ([email protected]). I became suspicious after I printed out an invoice. I didn't realize I was purchasing tickets from somebody in Austin, TX as the site read "Official Benedum Ticket Sales," but it was too late because I had already signed off on the purchase. I was under the impression that I had purchased tickets for the directors circle, right center, but received the wrong tickets. The total bill came to $243.78. The tickets that I received have a face value of "$54.82 with $2.56 tax, and $3.25 fee." The website indicated that there may be state, local, or other taxes. The website didn't indicate a ticket mark up. Otherwise, I would not have purchased from this site. It would have been a clue that this was not "an official Benedum Center" website. The manner in which they advertised the tickets and fees was very disceiving. My mistake for accepting without further investigation. I called (512) 261-5140 and spoke to Shannon about the issue of receiving the wrong tickets and the amount charged in comparison to the face value written on the tickets that I received. She stated, "well Marion (wrong name by the way) you agreed to the tickets when you made the purchase and our service fee is $11.00/ticket." She would not even look into my complaint of receiving the wrong tickets and amount charged. They charged me $121.89 for each ticket per my invoice. I am accepting this as a very expensive lesson, but I hope that you will be able to adivise other consumers of this type of scam that is happening on the websites so that they will use wisdom that I have gained through my mistake.
