I had an issue with this company Avangate Inc, makers of BitDefender, virus protection software, when I responded to their early offer to renew, they chopped off my current subscription and started the year over, while having about 3 months left on current subscription. After they did this and about the month it took to correct this issue, I determined never to give this company my business.
So on Oct 29, 2013 I received a charge on my credit card for $79.95. I never knowingly checked anything that said auto renew when i subscribed--ever.
They told me in an email that they sent me an auto renew reminder, but I searched my emails from them and never received this reminder stating that they would bill my credit card ( I searched my all correspondence from them.) The day I saw the charges from an email and my pending credit card transaction, I called them and told them I did not intend to renew and process a refund ASAP. I promptly deleted my old virus software from my computers.
They proceeded to bombard me with emails about working out a deal with them and that if I still wanted a refund it would take up to 3 months. (Which has never happened and seems like a big stretch)
Every time they emailed me back arguing with me about my renewing of my account, I said the same thing and always asked for a refund.
They never have complied said they will comply or have not taken any steps for the refund
What a shady company this is. I would not recommend anyone to do business with this company.
