This person responded to my ad on Craigslist for a room to rent. She showed up to look at it with family, seemed very legitimate and honest. Over the course of the month she brought in only a few personal items, never stayed the night but always wanted to know when I would not be home. She wouldn't answer my questions, just side-stepped them. I wasn't too worried - perfect roommate if she pays and is never there, but she did leave little messes in her room and bathroom. A few days before rent was due I contacted her, getting no real answer as to when she would pay, then on the day it was due she kept pushing back the time until it was the next day. The next morning she finally said she was not going to pay. She tried to get out of giving me my key back (had the locks changed anyway). I think this girl has been doing that since she moved to the area 3 years ago, staying as long as people let her without paying (of course she promises to pay). I also think she planned on stealing from me because she would only want to be home when I was gone. Just beware - she might pay partial up-front but will lie about paying anything else.
