Two young women came to my door in Cumberland, MD selling books and magazines that were suppose to be for a good cause. They said the books would be delivered to a hospital or several other opptions of my choice.
They said they were competing for a trip to Italy and preferred that I give them cash. The cost was $44 per subscription and they said they would cover the shipping and handling of $15 each.
They asked me to purchase 2 sets of magazines, one for each sales person. I was given three days to cancel and they gave me a web sight in which I could cancel. (Explorercomm.com) I did not see how to cancel through the web sight.
I got suspicious when I did not see a phone number to cancel on the receipt.
I followed the cancellation instructions that were listed on the receipt. I sent in the receipts (copies) and informed them that I paid cash, which it also says on the receipt. Now I get a letter from them saying I need to send them a copy of the check to get a refund. I wrote back and told them that that I paid cash and they know damm well. I went through the whole process again for cancellation.
