    Advertising Review

On July 20, 2011, we wrote to this company advising them we believe that based on their complaints, questionable advertising is the underlying source of their complaint activity. We asked the company to provide us with copies or links to their current employment recruitment ads; substantiation for the “$4000 per month” earning claims made by company representatives; evidence that background checks are actually performed when applicants apply for management positions, and , statistics on what percentage of applicants are NOT hired as a result of applying for their employment offer. We offered the company our assistance with finding ways to modify employment ads to provide a clearer picture of the true nature of their offer. To date we have not received a response.

    Industry Tips
The company advertises in local newspapers and on various job sites for management trainees. Respondents are initially required to pay a non-refundable registration, or background check fee of $75. As a condition of employment, job seekers are asked to purchase a sales kit at a cost of $95 which the company claims is refundable upon becoming a manager. Management trainees and sales representatives are not hired as employees of the company, but rather are hired as independent contractors. After purchasing the sales kit, employment hopefuls learn that they must sell a specified amount of product before they are eligible for a management position.

When looking for a job, you may come across ads for firms that misrepresent their services, promote outdated or fictitious job offerings, or charge high upfront fees for services that may not lead to a job. Too many consumers who respond to these ads think they are contacting a bona fide employment offer to fill a specific job. Instead, they reach a business that creates the impression that after paying fees for training or buying necessary equipment, that high paying jobs are available. Sometimes the fees are imposed without consumer approval, or the consumer is led to believe that most or all of the fees ultimately will be conditionally refunded, which turns out to be false. Keep in mind, companies who are really hiring employees do not usually charge their employees for the privilege of working for them.

  • Wow! That is so sad that you do not have the common sense to find out what this company is really about. But that's okay, because the company is looking for STRONG individuals who are career minded and want the opportunity for growth within a company. Apparently you don't have the strength to commit yourself to a promising future. Well I hope your future will be just as bountiful as mine will, and I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors.

Stop insulting other people's intelligence Kristi and go sell some fire hydrants. I'd rather Manage for a company that is not plastered all over the internet as a SCAM. Stop trying to defend it....A Lie is a Lie

  • You are more than welcome to your opinion, but just because you or this other gentleman did not pursue the position, doesn't mean you know what the company is about. This is not a sales position it is a management position, and I am sorry that you have such negativity that you feel you have to slander the people and the company's name like this. Have a great day!

  • I can tell you all these complaints are legitimate. Tony York and Lisa Bournazos have been running this type of scam for years. I got suckered into it when I was 19 years old (back in 1996). From people's complaints I see it hasn't changed much. A $60 "registration/background check" fee, a $95 "kit" fee just to get started. Then they tell you in order to advance you have to sell $2000 worth of product. After you sell that in order to advance further you have to sell another $3500 worth of product. I actually became an office manager and I can tell you this is 100% a pyramid scheme. And as far as the $4k a month in the ad?...this job is 100% commission based, even as a manager. As a manager you get paid a percentage of the $60 fee, the $95 fee, and sales that your "management trainees" make. The more people you hire (who pay the $60 and $95 fee) the more money you make; if that's not MLM/pyramid, I don't know what is.

  • Would you mind describing Tony and Lisa? I ran into a similar situation here in Florida and it sounds like the same people with the same objective...taking people's money! They have different names though: JJ and Lisa
