In mid September after returning from a month's vacation I found that my MAC was behaving very strangely with unknown icons showing up and a message that I needed help. I contacted the suggested help url and was connected to maxpcsupport.com. They told me that my computer had been invaded by foreign entities and that viruses had been inserted that would transfer info from my computer to overseas locations. They offered to clean my computer of viruses for a fee of $299.95 for a one year contract. I gave them a credit card umber . My computer has not really returned to normal operations and when I tried to call their telephone number (800-982-1360) to complain I got a message that the number has been disabled. I think the maxpcsupport.com url is a scam.
