Scam artists are using VRBO to scam money out of owners. Just had someone contact me from the Ukraine wanting to rent for a week. I sent info about property and location. They said they would send a cheque to the address I provided. One day later I get a email saying they had made a mistake and sent 2 cheques and one of the cheques was suppose to go to their travel agent here in Canada. Could I please cash both cheques and send money on to their travel agent. I said no as I felt that this was a scam.Had I agreed to do this. I would of sent money to a mystery person only to find out that the cheques that were sent to me were NO GOOD. THIS IS A SCAM.
Who do I complain to to let other owners know there we are being targeted through the VRBO website. This type of scam has been going on in my area in other forms but the crooks getting smarter.
