Financed an 04 Dodge Intrepid from lot on 9/07. Gave them 600 down. Have made 2 payments of $113 since then.
Test drove this car, ran great other than check engine light on. Salesman told me it was nothing to worry about. Reset it under guise of recharging the battery so I would purchase the vehicle. Later that afternoon, light was back on, autozone tested it and determined the light was on due to failing timing belt. Couldn't afford to fix it, couldn't afford to not drive and miss work, so I had to keep driving to and from work.
Couple weeks later, on 10/01, car breaks down and had to be towed home. ASE mechanic stated timing belt had jumped a few teeth and more than likely bent some valves. On 10/05, went in to make payment, denise tricked me into making payment by stating I could bring the car in monday to get repaired, and add cost onto payments. Monday comes, lot gave me run around, said wait til next day. Next day, 10/08, a man informed me they would not repair vehicle until i gave them money. if i have to pay upfront, i would rather deal with a mechanic I trust instead of the lot that screwed me. My ASE mechanic has stated timing was bad when vehicle was purchased, and they hid it by resetting the computer. I just want my money back.
