Complaint 278850 Details

I received a phone call from a man, telling me that he was a settlement firm representing PC Security Experts. He said that I had recently paid $299.00 to PC Security Experts and that the company had not fulfilled their commitment. Therefore I was entitled to a refund. I wxplained that our computers had crashed recently and had been completely reformatted. Therefore his software was no longer on my computer.
He still insisted that I allow him access to my computer. I refused him access to my computer.
He then said he needed to verify my information to issue a refund. He then started requesting information. I refused to provide the information he requested. I explained that if he gave me the information I would verify it but I would not provide it. I explained that he could be anyone simply saying he was from a company.
He then stated, you listen to me.
With that I told him, I would not listen to him, but he would listen to me. I will not give him my information, period.
He started yelling, you listen to me.
With that I hung up on him.
The phone number he called me from showed up on my caller ID, so I attempted to call tha number back. It said my call could not be completed as dialed as the number was a skype number. (661)-748-0240.
My wife had retained the informaiton from PC Security Experts and we attempted to look u a number for the company. The website could no longer be found.
I guess I was lucky in the fact that I refused to give him my information.
